On several occasions Juan Muñoz said that he wanted to create a kind of sculpture that would murmur even when nobody was around. This conceit reveals that the artist was not interested so much in the complete absence of language as in a kind of waiting; waiting, as in Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, for something that might never happen.
